Baby Mia!

Loving on her new sweet cousin, Baby Mia.  Congrats Wyat, Carissa and Hannah!!

 Playing makeup
 Always cuddling
Our Memorial Day fort!  Quite a way to celebrate all who've fought for our country.  ;)

Our graduate

Here's our little graduate!  All done with preschool now and ready for Kindergarten!

With one of her best friends, Erin.  Wish she were going to the same school next year!

Outside fun

 A little messy

We need to keep our big door shut now... little Miss Independent thinks she can go outside whenever she wants.
 Out she goes.
 And out she'll stay.
Dani loves riding her horsey.

While giving Keni a bath tonight I noticed she was giving her puppy bath toy a very stern look.  She snapped up her arm and pointed at it, then said, "You time out puppy!"  Then she smirked up at me.  She said, "Puppy naughty."  Then she picked up the puppy and said, "Say sowwy puppy!"  Then while hugging it she said, "Oh, I love you."
I just can't imagine what that puppy must have done to deserve that, but at least she was quick to forgive.

Mothers Day

Such a lovely way to brighten the house.  Thanks honey!

We solved one of our sleeping problems.  Now that Keni has her "big girl bed," the new rule is that she has to stay in her bed all night.  Weren't you all aware of that rule?  ;)
The girls are having the best time playing in it now.  Keeps them busy!

 A rare family photo!

 The great-grandkids (minus Keni).

Such a good-looking family!!!
What a tough couple weeks it has been.  Our sweet Afi got awfully sick and passed last Wednesday.  Everyone will miss him so much.  During the prayer service we were all telling our stories and thoughts of Afi.  Even Danica spoke up and said how much she loved Afi and how much he loved her.  So true.  I couldn't say what I wanted because I was a big boo-hooer.  So here's what I was thinking... there's never been a better Grandpa than my Afi.  I stayed at their house very often growing up, and he was a large part of the love in that house.  He wasn't the normal hands off kinda grandpa.  He very gently combed my hair for me, he made me cereal late at night when we were up watching late night tv, and he always made me his special Graham crackers with powdered sugar frosting treat.  I don't remember him ever raising his voice at us, although he probably had many reasons to.
When I got the call of Afi's passing, I was looking out the door and a butterfly hovered right at the door with me the whole time and for a few minutes after the call.  I'm pretty certain it was him.  We had a little chat and then he flew away.  But he keeps checking on me and my girls who he was so fond of... every day I see him.

Boyfriends

The other day I was bringing Danica home from school. She said, "Mom, both Justin and Conner are my boyfriends." Hmmm. Don't like that. I said, "Boyfriends?! What do you mean they're your boyfriends?" She said, "Well, they're boys and they're my friends. That makes them my boyfriends." Okay, much better. So I said, "Did you tell them they're your boyfriends?" She said, "No, I think they already just know." Sheesh!!
