Rearranging

Since Dani's had a bad cold, I've been keeping her home - don't want to spread those germs!! So she's been getting a little bored and coming up with some new things to do. I was on the computer and I heard her grunting and saying, "Oh come on chair! Just get up there!"

cough, cough

Little sleep was had last night. Danica's sick and has quite a cough, so we were all up most of the night. We got a nice few hours between midnight and 3 or 4, then the coughing began again and the "sick tantrum" started. That's always fun. We got her calmed and what we thought was on her way back to sleep, then we heard, "Mooooommmmmyyyyyy, Daaaaaaddyyyyyyy, I'm coouugghhiinngg!!"
Luckily for me, she napped in our bed at about 6:45 this morning (right after Duane left for work), so I got a few more minutes of shut-eye. Sorry Duane!! :)

Yesterday just as we were on our way out the door to Dani's doctor appointment, she threw up ALL over everything! So we got her naked and ran into her room to change clothes, and she did it again. We were going to be late so I just ran her out the door and called Duane to come clean up the puke. What a guy... he actually agreed to do it!! Not too many husbands would be willing to leave their nice non-pukey office in the middle of the day to come clean up vomit.

My broken heart

WOW what a week!
Danica woke from her nap on Tuesday asking to go to Bottineau. And when I say asking, I mean DEMANDING!!! So we hit the road.
All was well until Wednesday evening when my heart started acting up again. It was very scary. So for those of you who are interested, here's the deal. Apparently my Grandma Doris sent down some of her awesome genetic issues to me. I have an extra "electrical wire" (for lack of a better term) in my heart. All of us have a wire going from the top right atrial to the rest of the heart - telling it what to do. It is supposed to stop at the lower right ventrical, but mine has an extra wire sending those signals back up to the beginning again. So stress, lack of sleep, anxiety, whatever (we're not sure what) causes it to misfire and my heart does cartwheels. So we're trying medication for a bit and a heart monitor. If the meds don't work in shutting down that extra wire, we'll look into the surgery.
The absolute worst news is that I can no longer have coffee and chocolate. I'm deeply mourning the loss of my dear friends... I'll miss you guys!!
Thank you Mom and Amma for dropping everything and coming to Minot to help me out. There's no way I could've had Dani in the doctor's office that long with me. THANK YOU!!!

Just chatting

Duane's in Oooooooooooklahoma, where the wind goes sweeping down the plain! Which means sleepless nights for me (and therefore, Emma), because I'm certain that there are creepy bad guys lurking in every room of the house just waiting for me to fall asleep. Sigh. There was a lot of Jay Leno on in the middle of the night!!

Conversation during dinner last night:
(Dani pointing to Duane's work folder)
D: Is that Daddy's book?
Me: Yup.
D: Don't touch it? Daddy will get very mad at you.
Me: Okay.
D: Is Daddy a sneaky fox?
Me: Uh, what?
D: Is Daddy a sneaky fox like Swiper?
(Swiper is the fox on Dora)
Me: I don't think so.
D: Ya, Daddy's a sneaky fox.
Me: Okay.

Conversation during breakfast this morning:
D: What time is it?
Me: It's... (interrupted)
D: Is it 31? Is it 31 4?
Me: No. It's 7.
D: What time is it?
Me: It's 7.
D: O'clock?
Me: Yes, 7 O'clock.
D: Then it's time for juice.
(five minutes later...)
D: Mommy, do you remember me?
Me: Of course I remember you!
D: You remember me??!!

My days are never dull! :)

Mom's are GREAT!

Happy Mothers Day!!!
We just got back from a lovely trip to Bottineau. We got to go out with some friends last night and had a great time. Unfortunately we forgot we're no longer 21 years old, and our old bodies can't handle that stuff anymore! But even on our 4 1/2 hours of sleep we had a great Mothers Day.
Danica had a wonderful time in Bottineau as well. In fact, as we pulled into Minot and turned the corner to our street, she through a great big tantrum. She realized we weren't going to Grammy's house, and she did not approve of that decision. A few minutes, some milk and some Dora fixed the situation.
(And yes, I forgot my camera again)

Racing

Ready, Set...

Random pics

We had a really fun day outside yesterday. Finally SUMMER IS HERE!!!

It was a great family time for us. Until the weird kids next door came over and freaked us out. Of course the neighborhood weirdos live right next door to us. Luckily Dani is too young to know they're wackos, so she had a great time.

Looking pretty tough!

Here's our little sausage. I think it's about time we put these jammies away!

One of her many outfits. She's been changing clothes about 10-12 times a day now. She just goes into her drawers and picks out whatever strikes her fancy. Here's one of her most recent choices.

GOSH!

Danica was just going to go behind the couch and I told her not to. She looked at me with a crinkled forehead and said, "Gosh Mama, you're crazy!" I said WHAT??? Again, "Gosh, Mama, you're really crazy!!" I paused for a few minutes trying to think of where she'd heard that, and she said, "Stop it Mama!! I TOLD you! Gosh!"
